About VocoVision:
VocoVision is seeking a highly skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide remote interpreting services for K-12 students in Toledo, Ohio. This role involves facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers or peers, ensuring full access to academic content in a virtual setting.

What Youll Be Doing:

Provide real-time interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring clear communication in virtual classrooms.
Translate lectures, discussions, and instructional materials into American Sign Language (ASL).
Work closely with teachers, students, and parents to ensure effective communication and student engagement.
Participate in IEP meetings, offering insights on communication needs and accommodations for students.
Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment by facilitating communication for students with hearing impairments.
Maintain accurate logs of interpreting sessions and ensure compliance with Ohios educational regulations.

Qualifications:

Valid certification as an American Sign Language Interpreter in Ohio.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Experience working with K-12 students (teletherapy experience is a plus).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working remotely with students, parents, and school teams.
