Pediatric School Speech Therapist | Brooklyn, New York
A position is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve high school students within a school setting in Brooklyn, NY. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide specialized therapy services to adolescents, focusing on communication and speech development to support their academic success and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid NY SLP Licensure is required
- Credentialed with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience or willingness to work with pediatric populations, specifically high school-aged students
- Familiarity with both in-person and teletherapy modalities
- Strong knowledge of school-based speech and language therapy, including clinical fellowship year (CFY) experience
Role Details:
- Commitment of 4.5 to 5 hours per week, spread over 2 days
- Manage a caseload of high school students requiring speech and language interventions
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments, deliver therapy sessions, and monitor student progress
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs, including teletherapy options where appropriate
