An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in telespeech and teletherapy services within a school setting. This is a contract position located in Gridley, CA, supporting a Pre-K through 6th grade student population. The assignment commences as soon as possible and continues through June 5th, 2026.
Responsibilities include providing virtual speech-language therapy to a caseload of approximately 78 students, with a small preschool group of around 5 students. The role involves collaborating with an onsite Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) present five days a week and utilizing a VocoVision workstation to deliver services. The primary workspace is a shared but divided room designated mainly for speech services, with occasional use by occupational therapy and adapted physical education professionals. An external camera will be provided to facilitate effective teletherapy sessions.
Key duties encompass conducting speech and language therapy sessions, managing caseloads efficiently, completing a limited number of annual and re-evaluation assessments, and handling 12 preschool transition cases. Familiarity with the Special Education Information System (SEIS) is highly advantageous, as it supports documentation and reporting requirements. The schedule includes designated IEP days on Thursdays.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist licensure and credentials
- Experience with teletherapy delivery in educational settings
- Proficiency in using VocoVision technology or similar teletherapy platforms
- Strong knowledge of SEIS or comparable special education software
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload involving multiple grade levels
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
