Remote Speech-Language Teletherapist (SLP) Virginia (K-12 School-Based)

Position Overview

We are looking for a licensed and dedicated Remote Speech-Language Teletherapist to provide virtual speech and language therapy to K12 students in Virginia. This fully remote role involves delivering personalized teletherapy sessions, collaborating closely with educators and families, and helping students improve their communication skills to support academic achievement and social engagement.

The ideal candidate will have teletherapy experience, knowledge of Virginias educational regulations, and a passion for fostering inclusive learning through remote services.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver speech and language therapy services remotely to students with communication challenges.

• Perform virtual screenings and assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP objectives.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student communication in various settings.

• Maintain detailed and timely documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress reports in accordance with Virginia Department of Education standards.

• Participate in IEP meetings to discuss student progress and recommend appropriate interventions.

• Utilize evidence-based teletherapy methods and digital tools to engage students effectively in the virtual environment.

• Keep up-to-date with best practices in telepractice and relevant Virginia educational policies.

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensing

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

• Valid Virginia license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

• ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) is preferred.

• Familiarity with Virginia Department of Educations regulations and telepractice guidelines.

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience providing speech-language therapy services to school-aged children.

• Prior teletherapy experience is a plus, with proficiency in virtual platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or therapy-specific software.

• Strong skills in assessment, individualized therapy planning, and record-keeping.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school teams remotely.

• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs in a virtual setting.

Preferred Attributes

• Bilingual abilities (such as English/Spanish) are advantageous.

• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools and assistive technology.

• Experience working with diverse and multicultural student populations.

• Training in culturally responsive and inclusive therapeutic practices.
