Remote School Social Worker - New Mexico

A virtual opportunity has opened for a licensed social worker specializing in schools to provide telehealth services one day per week, approximately eight hours, supporting students within a school district in Bernalillo, NM. This role focuses on delivering both direct and indirect social work services through a telehealth platform.

Responsibilities include managing a caseload of eight students, primarily aged 12 to 18, with an emphasis on those between 12 and 14 years old. Social work services involve approximately 30 minutes per week of IEP (Individualized Education Program) support per student. The role entails ensuring compliance with educational and professional standards, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with school personnel through virtual means.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Active New Mexico professional social worker license
• New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) license strongly preferred
• Experience providing telehealth services in educational settings
• Ability to deliver IEP-related social work supports effectively
• Familiarity or willingness to learn district-specific documentation platforms
• Clear background check clearance (conducted by the district)
