Remote School Social Worker - Michigan

A contract position is available for a Social Worker specializing in telehealth services within a school setting located in Sterling Heights, MI. This role supports student mental health and well-being through remote counseling and intervention, delivering essential social work services via virtual platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Provide telehealth social work services to students, addressing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges
• Conduct assessments, develop individualized support plans, and collaborate with educational staff to promote student success
• Maintain confidential records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and school policies
• Engage with families and caregivers to support student needs and facilitate access to community resources
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate care and ensure holistic student support

Desired Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW, LCSW, or equivalent) in Michigan
• Experience delivering telehealth services, preferably within a school or youth-focused environment
• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and crisis intervention techniques
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate effectively with educators and families
• Familiarity with relevant laws, ethics, and confidentiality standards pertaining to school social work
