Online Special Education Teacher in ME

A full-time position is available for a Special Education Teacher skilled in telehealth services and case management, serving students in grades 5-8. This role requires 282 Certification and involves managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) for a caseload of 13 IEPs and 6 ISPs.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting case management duties, ensuring compliance with all special education requirements.
• Performing academic evaluations and classroom observations to assess student progress and needs.
• Monitoring the delivery of specially designed instruction (SDI) to support student growth.
• Collaborating with educators and families to develop and update IEPs and ISPs.
• Utilizing telehealth platforms to provide instruction and support remotely.
• Bringing professional expertise in both in-person and remote educational settings.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid 282 Certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with middle school students, specifically grades 5-8.
• Ability to manage multiple IEPs and ISPs efficiently.
• Skilled in conducting academic assessments and classroom observations.
• Proficient in using telehealth tools for instructional delivery and communication.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families.

Location: This contract role is based in Mount Desert, ME. The case manager may work primarily remotely but should be available to attend in-person sessions when necessary, including academic evaluations and classroom visits.
