Virtual Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in FL
An opportunity is available for a skilled educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing instruction to support students through telehealth services. This position involves delivering specialized teaching strategies tailored to the unique communication needs of students with hearing impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum while fostering language and literacy development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct instruction and support via telehealth platforms to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborating with families, audiologists, speech therapists, and educational teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address communication and academic goals.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed to promote optimal learning outcomes.
- Utilizing assistive technologies and communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), speech reading, and auditory training.
- Offering professional guidance and resources to caregivers and school staff to support inclusive educational environments.
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Expertise in delivering instruction through telehealth platforms.
