Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Massachusetts
This opportunity seeks a specialized educator experienced in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth services. Based in Boston, MA, this contract role focuses on delivering high-quality remote instruction to support the unique communication and learning needs of these students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored telehealth instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize technology effectively to engage students and monitor progress during remote sessions
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff to ensure consistent support and address challenges
- Maintain detailed documentation of student sessions, progress, and outcomes
- Stay current with best practices and innovations in teaching students with hearing loss through telehealth platforms
Qualifications:
- Certification in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering telehealth or remote instruction, especially in special education settings
- Strong knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory-oral approaches
- Ability to create engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families and professionals
- Familiarity with teleconferencing technologies and online educational tools
