Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Michigan

An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized telehealth support to a student in Coloma, MI. This contract position focuses on delivering focused, daily intervention designed to assist a student with combined DHH and speech-language impairments (SLI), ensuring consistent access to expert guidance during a key timeframe in the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instructional support to a student with Deaf / Hard of Hearing needs from 12:28 PM to 1:15 PM each school day.
• Utilize telehealth technology, including an iPad equipped with the Voco Toolkit, to deliver tailored interventions remotely.
• Collaborate with existing staff to effectively break up the students day and promote continuous access to DHH expertise.
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies to meet the students evolving communication and learning needs.
• Participate in the interview process scheduled for September 30.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing.
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms and digital tools relevant to DHH education, particularly the Voco Toolkit.
• Understanding of strategies to support students with combined DHH and SLI needs.
• Ability to engage and motivate students within brief, focused instruction periods.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff and families.
