Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - MI

Seeking a specialized educator to provide support to a student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth services. This contract position requires delivering focused instruction and assistance from 12:28 PM to 1:15 PM daily, ensuring consistent access to tailored learning experiences throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include working directly with a student identified as Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Speech Language Impaired, facilitating communication and educational progress by breaking up the school day with dedicated support sessions. Utilizing available technology, such as an iPad equipped with the Voco Toolkit, is essential to enhance interaction and accessibility in the virtual learning environment.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote instructional strategies
• Ability to provide specialized educational support that addresses both hearing and speech language needs
• Competence in using assistive technology, including the Voco Toolkit
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students through virtual methods
