This opportunity seeks a qualified educator specializing in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing through telehealth methods. The role involves delivering specialized instruction and support remotely, ensuring accessibility and effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via telehealth platforms.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies suitable for remote learning environments.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Experience with telehealth instruction or remote teaching in special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), speech therapy techniques, or other relevant modalities.
- Ability to use educational technology and telecommunication tools effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
