Virtual Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - TX
Providing specialized support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing through telehealth services offers a unique opportunity to impact educational outcomes remotely. This role involves delivering tailored instruction and interventions that address the communication and learning needs of these students within a school setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting telehealth sessions focused on the development of listening, speech, and language skills for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to design individualized learning plans
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies based on assessment data
- Utilizing assistive technology and communication tools to enhance student engagement
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation in compliance with educational standards
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Experience delivering instruction via telehealth or other remote platforms
- Strong knowledge of auditory-oral strategies, sign language, and assistive listening devices
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills
