Online Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Delaware

A specialized teaching position is available for an educator skilled in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing through telehealth services. This contract role focuses on delivering accessible and effective instruction remotely, ensuring that students receive the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized telehealth instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Develop and implement educational plans that meet students unique communication and learning needs.
• Collaborate with families, speech therapists, audiologists, and other professionals to enhance educational outcomes.
• Utilize assistive technology and other resources to facilitate engaging and accessible lessons.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed or certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience delivering instruction via telehealth platforms.
• Strong understanding of communication methods for deaf and hard of hearing students, including sign language proficiency.
• Familiarity with assistive listening devices and educational technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans to remote learning environments effectively.
