Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Connecticut
An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting located in New Britain, CT. This role involves providing specialized instructional support to students with hearing impairments through remote learning platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored educational programs and therapy sessions via telehealth to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborating with families, classroom teachers, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students communication and learning needs.
- Utilizing assistive technology and telecommunication tools effectively to facilitate learning.
- Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintaining thorough documentation and reporting on student outcomes as required.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience with telehealth or remote instructional delivery methods.
- Strong knowledge of audiological, speech, and language development related to hearing loss.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
