Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Pennsylvania
A specialized role is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing utilizing telehealth technologies to deliver educational support. This contract position serves a school setting and focuses on providing accessible communication and instruction to students with hearing impairments through remote platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Conduct telehealth sessions to assess student progress, provide direct instruction, and offer support to students and families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including audiologists, speech therapists, and classroom teachers to enhance student learning.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication systems effectively in a virtual environment.
- Maintain accurate records of session notes, progress reports, and compliance with educational regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification specializing in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience delivering instruction to students with hearing impairments.
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms and remote instructional tools.
- Strong communication skills including American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage scheduling in a virtual setting.
