Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Rhode Island

A specialized opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing providing telehealth services. This contract position is based in Pawtucket, RI, supporting students through remote instruction tailored to their unique auditory and communication needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized educational programming for students who are deaf or hard of hearing using telehealth technology.
• Conducting assessments and developing service plans to address auditory, speech, and language goals.
• Collaborating with parents, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and classroom teachers to ensure comprehensive support.
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional methods as needed.
• Maintaining thorough documentation of sessions, student progress, and communication with interdisciplinary team members.
• Staying current with best practices and emerging technologies in the education of students with hearing loss.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or equivalent licensure.
• Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of auditory and speech-language development in students with hearing loss.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing virtual sessions efficiently.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations related to hearing impairment.
