Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Washington
An opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, delivering services through telehealth. This contract position supports remote educational instruction tailored to the unique needs of students requiring specialized communication and learning strategies.
Location: Tacoma, WA
Contract Type: Full-year, starting in August
Weekly Hours: Approximately 3 hours per week
Compensation: Up to $40 per hour
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing via telehealth platforms
- Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students communication and academic needs
- Collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers to ensure coherent educational strategies
- Utilizing knowledge of auditory, visual, and communication technologies to facilitate learning
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional approaches as needed
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering instruction through telehealth or remote learning modalities
- Familiarity with education strategies tailored for students with hearing loss
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Commitment to the full academic year to provide consistent and reliable services
