Remote Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Connecticut
A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in Telehealth services. This role centers on delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing telehealth platforms to facilitate learning and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via telehealth.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, families, and educational teams.
- Utilize assistive technology and telecommunication tools to enhance accessibility and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals to support student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure relevant to teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience delivering instruction through telehealth or similar virtual platforms.
- Strong knowledge of hearing loss, communication modalities, and assistive technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage scheduling within a contract period.
Location: This position is based in West Hartford, CT, and operates within a school setting via telehealth services.
