Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired in KY
A contract opportunity is available for a visually impaired teacher providing telehealth services to students. This role primarily supports students with visual impairments by delivering direct instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), accommodating fluctuating weekly schedules due to varying session lengths throughout the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering approximately 12 hours per month of direct instruction via telehealth, with adjusted weekly hours reflecting session variations (roughly 3 hours per month on average; 4 hours during November, April, and May; about 6 hours during December).
- Allocating 4 hours monthly for data management, graphing, and ARC (Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee) preparation.
- Conducting student evaluations as required, typically totaling around 3 hours per month depending on evaluation schedules.
- Making up instructional service minutes missed in August and September, averaging an additional 5 hours monthly.
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation to meet compliance and reporting standards.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a teacher of students with visual impairments.
- Experience delivering telehealth educational services or remote instruction.
- Strong organizational skills to manage varying monthly schedules, data tracking, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to flexible weekly instructional demands.
- Familiarity with IEP development and compliance procedures.
Location: Telehealth services delivered remotely in support of students based in Alexandria, KY.
