Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | North Carolina
A contract position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) providing telehealth services to a kindergarten student. This part-time role requires delivering specialized instruction for 6 hours per week, divided into 1.5-hour sessions over four days.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the student's visual impairment.
- Delivering virtual instruction and support via telehealth platforms.
- Collaborating with family members and educational staff to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies.
- Utilizing appropriate teaching materials and adaptive technology to enhance learning.
- Maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly regarding student development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with young children, especially kindergarten-aged students.
- Ability to deliver services through virtual platforms.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English to support effective communication with the student.
- Strong knowledge of visual impairment strategies and tools.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
