Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired - MO
Part-time opportunity for a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide telehealth instruction supporting a 9-year-old second grader. The role involves approximately 2.5 hours of virtual teaching per month, focusing on developing writing skills tailored to the student's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a visually impaired student using telehealth platforms.
- Develop and implement tailored strategies to teach writing skills appropriate for a second-grade level.
- Collaborate remotely with educational staff and caregivers to support the students progress.
- Maintain compliance with applicable educational standards and individualized education program (IEP) goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification in Missouri is required.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with visual impairments.
- Demonstrated ability to teach writing and literacy skills to young learners.
- Strong communication skills for effective virtual engagement with students and support teams.
- Comfortable with telehealth technology and virtual instructional methods.
