Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | North Carolina
A part-time position is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher specializing in telehealth services. This role is designed to provide specialized instruction to a kindergarten student with visual impairments through virtual sessions. The student primarily speaks Spanish, making bilingual skills highly advantageous. This contract-based opportunity offers a flexible schedule of 6 hours per week, divided into four 1.5-hour sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional support to a visually impaired kindergarten student via telehealth platforms
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals related to visual impairment
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive strategies to enhance student learning
- Collaborate remotely with families and educational staff to monitor progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly regarding student development
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience teaching visually impaired students, preferably at the early childhood level
- Proficiency in telehealth and virtual instructional methods
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English to effectively support language needs
- Strong communication and engagement skills in a remote learning environment
