Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired - MO
A part-time opportunity is available for a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized telehealth services. This role involves supporting a 9-year-old second grader with visual impairment, focusing on literacy development and writing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction tailored to the unique needs of a visually impaired student.
- Conduct approximately 2.5 hours of virtual sessions monthly, utilizing telehealth technology effectively.
- Develop and implement individualized education strategies designed to teach writing skills.
- Collaborate remotely with caregivers and educational staff to monitor progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Missouri Teacher for the Visually Impaired (MO TVI) certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably with visual impairments.
- Strong skills in delivering virtual instruction and engaging young learners through telehealth platforms.
- Ability to design creative, patient-centered approaches to teaching writing and literacy.
Location & Schedule:
- Position is fully remote, supporting a student based in Dexter, Missouri.
- Commitment is approximately 2.5 hours per month, providing flexibility and focused intervention.
