Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) - New York

A contracted position is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired serving approximately 19 students in a telehealth setting. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing direct instruction as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Conducting consultative services to educators and families
• Producing braille materials to enhance learning accessibility
• Supporting orientation and mobility skills development
• Utilizing telehealth technologies to connect with students and staff

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings
• Proficiency in braille and assistive technologies
• Strong communication skills for consultative service delivery
