Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | North Carolina

A part-time opportunity is available for a Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) professional to provide specialized telehealth instruction to a kindergarten student. This position involves delivering virtual services to support educational access and development for a visually impaired child.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting 1.5-hour telehealth sessions, four days per week, totaling 6 hours weekly
• Developing and implementing individualized learning plans tailored to the student's visual needs
• Collaborating with families and educational staff to enhance learning outcomes
• Monitoring progress and adjusting instructional techniques accordingly
• Utilizing technology effectively to deliver virtual instruction

Preferred qualifications or experience:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience with early childhood students, particularly in kindergarten
• Ability to work with bilingual learners; Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred given the student's primary language is Spanish
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual instruction best practices
• Strong communication skills to engage both student and family remotely

Work location: Remote/virtual position servicing a student based in the Mars Hill, North Carolina area.
