Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired - TX

A position is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) specializing in telehealth services, located in San Antonio, TX. This contract role involves providing direct instructional hours and indirect services including consulting with staff and preparing materials to support visually impaired students.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct educational instruction to students with visual impairments via telehealth
• Conducting consultations with school staff to assist in program implementation
• Preparing specialized materials tailored to student needs
• Performing comprehensive evaluations such as Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) assessments
• Participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate on individualized education plans

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Proficiency in telehealth instructional methods and tools
• Experience with vision-related evaluations and assessments
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educational teams
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities including instructional and consultative duties
