Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | North Carolina
A part-time opportunity is available for a licensed Teacher for the Visually Impaired specializing in telehealth services. This role involves providing specialized instruction to a kindergarten student with visual impairments through virtual platforms. The position requires commitment of 6 hours per week, divided into four 1.5-hour sessions.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored educational support and therapy sessions for a visually impaired student.
- Utilizing telehealth technology effectively to engage the student remotely.
- Developing and implementing individualized lesson plans that address both visual impairment and language needs.
- Collaborating with educational staff and caregivers to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Supporting the students language development, with attention to bilingual needs given the students stronger Spanish proficiency.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience delivering services through telehealth or virtual learning environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with instructional strategies for young learners with visual impairments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Location: This is a virtual position serving students in the Spruce Pine, NC area.
