Speech Therapist in Charlottesville, VA
A virtual speech-language pathologist (SLP) position is available to support a diverse caseload of students from kindergarten through 6th grade. This role is a contract assignment based in Charlottesville, VA, and requires a start date as soon as possible, continuing through May 21st. The position offers 37.5 hours per week with a 5-day work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual speech and language therapy services to approximately 50 students.
- Serve a mix of student populations, including general education K-5, resource students needing 1-2 sessions per week, preschool classroom participants, walk-in preschool students, and students in autism classrooms requiring push-in services.
- Work with AAC users employing various communication devices such as low-tech tools, eye gaze technology, and limited tablet AAC.
- Deliver therapy services to about 4 additional students at the middle and high school levels on the same campus with walkable access.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), CCC, CFY, or School SLP credential.
- Experience in school-based speech therapy, preferably working with a pediatric caseload including autism and AAC users.
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload of 50+ students.
- Skilled in virtual service delivery and flexible in adapting therapy plans to meet diverse student needs.
Location: Virtual position servicing students at a school in Charlottesville, Virginia.
