A dynamic opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in 5th grade intervention within a school setting located in Sterling Heights, MI. This contract position involves supporting both general education and special education students, ensuring tailored instructional strategies that meet diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and intervention for a 5th grade caseload of 38 students, encompassing both general education and special education learners.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations to support academic growth.
Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive classroom environments.
Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Engage in professional development and training as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Adhere to school hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, fostering consistency and routine for students.
Experience with Long-Term Substitute (LTS) roles since January, demonstrating adaptability and commitment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
Proven experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in 5th grade intervention.
Strong knowledge of both general education and special education curricula.
Ability to manage a sizable caseload effectively.
Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
