Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Colorado Springs, Colorado
A school in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking dedicated professionals to fill full-time and part-time positions as Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year, providing meaningful educational support to students with hearing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational programs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, and support staff to ensure accessibility and effective communication
- Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning and engagement
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations to support student success
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license specific to Colorado
- Active certification through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
