Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Pelham, GA
A contract position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve K-12 students. This role involves providing specialized services to approximately 7-8 students, focusing on consultation and direct instructional support.
Location: Pelham, GA
Contract Dates: July 31 through May 23
Schedule: Approximately 17 hours per month, spread across 3-4 days monthly
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored educational services for students with visual impairments
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to support student needs
- Develop and implement individualized plans for students on the caseload
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong understanding of visual impairment impact on learning and development
- Ability to consult effectively with educators and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
