A contract position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve K-12 students. This role involves providing specialized services to approximately 7-8 students, focusing on consultation and direct instructional support.

Location: Pelham, GA
Contract Dates: July 31 through May 23
Schedule: Approximately 17 hours per month, spread across 3-4 days monthly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored educational services for students with visual impairments
  • Consult with general education teachers and staff to support student needs
  • Develop and implement individualized plans for students on the caseload
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment impact on learning and development
  • Ability to consult effectively with educators and families
