Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) - New York
A school district in Norwich, NY is seeking a skilled Itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide telehealth services and in-person support across multiple campuses in the region. This contract position requires a commitment of at least 26 hours per week, starting as soon as possible through May 2026.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Developing and implementing individualized plans tailored to each students unique needs
- Collaborating remotely via telehealth and in person to ensure effective service delivery
- Managing a caseload that spans multiple campuses within the districts region
- Monitoring student progress and providing regular updates to school staff and families
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Educator License with a Teacher for the Visually Impaired endorsement
- Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 educational settings
- Ability to deliver specialized instruction through telehealth platforms
- Strong organizational skills to manage itinerant caseload across several locations
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
