Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired - NC
A full-time opportunity is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction and support for K-12 students. This position operates onsite, utilizing telehealth methods as part of its service delivery. The role requires expertise in working with visually impaired students, ensuring they receive tailored education to meet their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels.
- Implement appropriate teaching strategies and accommodations to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with families, school personnel, and other professionals to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilize telehealth platforms to supplement onsite teaching, ensuring accessibility and continuity of services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation regarding student progress and services provided.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license.
- Proven experience in educating students with visual impairments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
