Their Challenge

The district faced significant shortages of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and School Psychologists amid intense competition for providers across the Detroit area. At the same time, the district was responsible for supporting a highly diverse student population with complex academic, behavioral, and therapeutic needs across a large geographic footprint.

Our Teletherapy Solution

VocoVision partnered closely with the district’s Ancillary Services Department to provide both onsite and virtual related service professionals, including Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and School Psychologists.

Over two school years, VocoVision rapidly expanded support across the district by delivering scalable teletherapy and onsite staffing solutions tailored to the district’s evolving needs. The partnership included:

  • Remote and onsite staffing support across multiple disciplines
  • Ongoing collaboration with district leadership to address compliance and staffing gaps
  • Hands-on technical and operational support for school sites
  • On-site visits to configure therapy spaces and technology for successful service delivery
  • Professional development and training sessions for district staff

The VocoVision account team also provided consultative support, helping troubleshoot operational barriers and proactively adapting services to meet district demands

Today, VocoVision is viewed as a trusted and collaborative staffing partner for the district, supporting critical related service programs while helping district leadership navigate ongoing staffing shortages and compliance demands.
