Remote Gen Ed Teacher in VA

Providing dynamic and supportive virtual education to elementary students requires dedication, adaptability, and strong communication skills. This role focuses on delivering engaging online instruction to students in grades K5, fostering academic growth and confidence across core subjects through personalized learning experiences.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting live virtual lessons one-on-one or in small groups covering Reading and Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
• Designing age-appropriate lesson plans tailored to meet diverse learning styles and needs
• Encouraging active student participation and building a positive virtual classroom atmosphere
• Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student progress to families and program staff
• Maintaining accurate attendance records and clear communication logs
• Engaging in periodic virtual meetings or professional development opportunities as required

Qualifications sought for this position:

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related discipline preferred
• Teaching certification is an advantage but not mandatory
• Experience working with elementary-aged children highly desirable
• Previous experience in virtual teaching or tutoring enhances candidacy
• Proficient with online learning platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Classroom
• Strong organizational and classroom management capabilities
• Ability to operate independently as a 1099 contractor while delivering professional and reliable instruction
• Dependable high-speed internet and a quiet home workspace essential

This position offers approximately 15 hours of work weekly with flexibility to accommodate the needs of both students and program scheduling. Daytime and after-school availability is welcomed to best support student success.
