Teletherapy Occupational Therapist | California
Seeking an Occupational Therapist with expertise in school-based and telehealth services, available for a contract assignment in San Jose, CA. This role involves supporting students through tailored therapeutic interventions delivered primarily via telehealth, with some onsite collaboration.
Work Hours and Setup:
- Commitment of 20-30 hours per week during the first two months of the school year
- Workstation fully equipped for telehealth services
- Supported by a dedicated paraprofessional to assist with student needs
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience navigating the Special Education Information System (SEIS)
- Extensive background in California school settings
- Familiarity with VOCO technology is highly desirableprevious challenges with VOCO highlight the need for an OT comfortable and proficient with this tool
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and provide occupational therapy interventions aligned with students Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educational staff and paraprofessionals to enhance student participation and success
- Document therapy sessions and progress in compliance with school district requirements and SEIS
- Utilize VOCO and other assistive technologies to support communication goals
