Virtual Sign Language Interpreter | New York

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available, specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. Scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the role involves providing interpretation support primarily for elementary-aged students.

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitating clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and school personnel through sign language interpretation.
• Supporting telehealth appointments by delivering accurate and timely interpretation services.
• Assisting in the classroom to help students fully participate in educational activities.
• Collaborating with educators and support staff to ensure the communication needs of students are met effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, with a focus on educational and telehealth environments.
• Strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) and effective communication techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage an elementary school caseload.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Flexibility and reliability in adhering to a full-time schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
