Remote Educational Sign Language Interpreter - New York

A professional opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide onsite services within a high school setting in Troy, NY. This role offers both full-time and part-time positions with block scheduling arrangements. Interpreters will work primarily in one-on-one educational sessions, supporting students who require sign language communication assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and faculty in a high school environment
• Deliver sign language interpreting services onsite, ensuring clarity and accessibility during lessons and school activities
• Collaborate with educators to support students individual learning needs during 1:1 sessions
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with school policies

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills
• Experience working in educational or school settings preferred, particularly with high school students
• Ability to manage block scheduling and adapt to varying daily assignments
