Remote Social Worker - ME

A special education teaching opportunity is available for Licensed Special Education Teachers holding a valid Washington state SPED license and ESA certification. The assignment spans one middle school classroom and one high school classroom, supporting a resource (co-teaching) caseload of approximately 30 students.

Position Details:

• Full-time contract position running from August through June 2027, totaling 37.5 hours per week
• Located within a school district serving Auburn, Tacoma, and Lakewood, WA areas
• Educators will engage with middle and high school students requiring specialized instruction and support
• Supervision by paraeducators or related support staff will not be provided, calling for independent classroom management
• Onboarding includes fingerprinting clearance before the start date
• Interview process conducted remotely via Zoom with the potential for a prompt decision and offer

Ideal candidates will possess:

• A current Washington State Special Education license and ESA certification
• Experience working with a middle and high school-aged caseload
• Ability to manage a resource room classroom supporting roughly 30 students in co-teaching or resource settings
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills capable of adapting to various learner needs
• Professionalism and readiness to comply with required district onboarding protocols
