Virtual Social Worker in ME
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in a vibrant school setting, supporting students in both middle and high school classrooms. This contract position spans the academic year from August through June 2027, offering 37.5 hours per week in resource and co-teaching roles. The caseload includes approximately 30 students requiring specialized instructional support within inclusive classroom environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
- Providing direct instruction and support in middle and high school classrooms
- Collaborating with general education teachers to facilitate co-teaching and inclusive practices
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to student support strategies
Desired qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- ESA Certification
- Experience working with middle and high school students in special education settings
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 30 students
- Strong skills in co-teaching and resource support models
- Capability to maintain professional independence, as supervision from paraeducators or related staff will not be provided
Additional details:
- One school assignment consisting of one middle school classroom and one high school classroom
- Fingerprinting clearance is required prior to the start date
