Special Education Teacher Online | Washington
A Special Education Teacher is needed to support a virtual K-8 online program for the 2026/2027 school year. This position is based in Easton, WA, and requires flexibility to accommodate parent scheduling while generally working during typical school hours, Monday through Friday. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 25-30 students enrolled in an Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) program that operates entirely online.
Responsibilities include maintaining strict compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for all assigned students. The teacher will track IEP progress and goals without providing direct student instruction, as the students participate from home. The student population includes those with a variety of special education needs, such as Speech impairments, Health Impairments, and Learning Disabilities.
Key qualifications and experience include:
- Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher certification for K-8
- Experience working with virtual or online education programs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, monitoring, and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple student IEPs with detailed record keeping
- Flexibility to coordinate schedules with families and meet program requirements
