Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in TX
An opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, delivering instruction through telehealth methods. This contract position focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing virtual platforms to ensure accessibility and engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Conducting virtual lessons and assessments via telehealth technology.
- Collaborating with families, audiologists, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Monitoring student development and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on student performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience delivering instruction through telehealth or virtual platforms.
- Strong knowledge of communication strategies, assistive technologies, and auditory/oral methods.
- Ability to create inclusive, engaging learning environments for students with hearing loss.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
