Virtual Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - NC
A teaching position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing providing telehealth services. This contract role supports students residing in Gastonia, NC, through virtual instructional methods tailored to meet the needs of those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support via telehealth platforms to students with hearing impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) focused on auditory and communication goals.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educational staff remotely to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Utilize technology effectively to assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Provide training and resources to families on communication strategies and assistive devices.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement or specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience delivering instruction through telehealth or virtual platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of language development, auditory skills, and communication techniques specific to hearing loss.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with educational teams and families.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive equipment used in Deaf education.
