Remote Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in CA
This opportunity involves providing specialized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through a remote telehealth format. The role focuses on delivering targeted support as part of an Extended School Year (ESY) program, working with a small group of students once weekly in sessions lasting 30 minutes each.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering instruction and support tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students via remote telehealth.
- Facilitating small group sessions to enhance learning and communication skills.
- Maintaining engagement and adapting teaching methods to suit grades 6 through 12.
- Collaborating to meet the specific goals of the ESY program during the contract period.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Proficiency with remote teaching technologies and telehealth platforms.
- Ability to work effectively within the limited weekly hours during the ESY timeframe.
- Experience in instructing middle and high school students is preferred.
Position details:
- Contract duration from June 22, 2026, through July 17, 2026.
- Less than 5 hours per week commitment.
- Remote work based in the Hayward, CA area.
- Small group instruction, once per week, in 30-minute sessions.
