Remote Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in CA

This opportunity involves providing specialized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through a remote telehealth format. The role focuses on delivering targeted support as part of an Extended School Year (ESY) program, working with a small group of students once weekly in sessions lasting 30 minutes each.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering instruction and support tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students via remote telehealth.
• Facilitating small group sessions to enhance learning and communication skills.
• Maintaining engagement and adapting teaching methods to suit grades 6 through 12.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Proficiency with remote teaching technologies and telehealth platforms.
• Ability to work effectively within the limited weekly hours during the ESY timeframe.
• Experience in instructing middle and high school students is preferred.

Position details:

• Contract duration from June 22, 2026, through July 17, 2026.
• Less than 5 hours per week commitment.
• Remote work based in the Hayward, CA area.
• Small group instruction, once per week, in 30-minute sessions.
