Virtual Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - HI
A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services. This role supports students remotely, providing specialized instruction and resources to enhance communication and learning outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized educational instruction and support to students with hearing impairments using telehealth platforms.
- Collaborating with families, educators, and audiologists to develop and implement tailored lesson plans and communication strategies.
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs.
- Conducting assessments and reporting on student growth and challenges.
- Training and guiding caregivers and school personnel on effective communication techniques for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Proven experience in educating students with hearing impairments, preferably in a virtual learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of educational technology and telehealth service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with state special education laws and guidelines related to hearing loss.
Location:
- Honolulu, HI (remote work with telehealth delivery; occasional onsite visits may be required depending on contract terms).
