Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in PA

A specialized teaching role is available focused on supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth methods. This position serves school environments and is based in the North East, PA area on a contractual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing via telehealth platforms
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress remotely
• Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Utilize technology effectively to ensure clear communication and engagement during virtual sessions
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and regulations
• Provide guidance on assistive listening devices and communication strategies suitable for each student's needs

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing is required
• Experience delivering instruction through telehealth or virtual platforms
• Strong knowledge of communication modalities including American Sign Language (ASL), Cued Speech, or oral methods
• Ability to build rapport with students and families remotely
• Familiarity with IEP development and special education law
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
