Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Massachusetts
A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) support, providing telehealth services as well as direct instruction. This role involves serving students across an entire district, with a focus on meeting diverse needs from elementary through secondary levels.
Location:
- Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored educational services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students throughout the district.
- Utilize telehealth technology to enhance access and communication.
- Collaborate with paraeducators assigned for support.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students at various grade levels, including both elementary and secondary.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
- Engage with families and professionals to foster an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience providing telehealth educational services preferred.
- Ability to manage a district-wide caseload effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with both elementary and secondary educational settings.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Additional Details:
- The position welcomes Voice Output Communication Aids (VOCA) experience.
- Paraeducator support is provided to assist with instructional duties.
