Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - MA

An opportunity is available for a full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students within a public school setting in Pittsfield, MA. This role is designed to provide specialized instruction and support across the district, working with both elementary and secondary students. With a 37.5-hour workweek, the position offers a dynamic educational environment and paraeducator support to assist with caseload demands.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Collaborating with educational teams across the district to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
• Utilizing telehealth tools to support students learning experiences remotely when necessary.
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to ensure academic and social development.
• Providing guidance and support to paraeducators assisting in the classroom.
• Managing a varying caseload spanning elementary and secondary grade levels.

Essential qualifications and skills:

• Certification or licensure specifically for teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
