Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Texas
This role focuses on delivering specialized education services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth platforms. The position requires expertise in adapting teaching methods to virtual environments, ensuring accessibility, and supporting individual communication needs in a remote setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students via telehealth
- Developing individualized education plans tailored to students' auditory and communication abilities
- Collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to address student progress and needs
- Utilizing assistive technologies and educational tools suitable for online delivery
- Monitoring and reporting on student outcomes and engagement
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering instruction through telehealth or remote learning platforms
- Strong understanding of auditory learning strategies and communication modalities (e.g., sign language, cued speech)
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual environment
